Kickstarting EBP as part of
Join us for a hands on workshop where Lyn Hay, Director of theLeading Learning Institute and Online Learning Innovation Leader, Charles Sturt University, will scaffold your exploration to determine the success, effectiveness or impact of a program or initiative that you have implemented in your school library.
Often teacher librarians design and run programs without building in an EBP strategy to capture evidence of impact.
How do you know what your teachers and students think of your newly refurbished school library space? How do you know if your literature program is contributing to students’ development as independent readers? How do you know if a recent Guided Inquiry project has improved students’ capability as critical readers of informational text? How do you know if the digital literacy skills and strategies taught in Year 8 Science have been transferred by students and utilised in other subjects?
This workshop will help you "turn intuitive into informed practice" by scaffolding an evidence-building process using the simple 4-step framework of Identify - Collect - Analyse - Advise to kickstart your journey as an evidence-based practitioner.
Use this workshop as an opportunity to plan a small, manageable and yet effective EBP project for 2019.
Participants are encouraged to identify a couple of programs they could potentially explore in an evidence-building exercise in preparation for this workshop.
If you are new to your school/library or are struggling to identify something to explore, don’t worry. Come along anyway, to be walked through the process and listen to project ideas identified by others. This might help you identify potential projects to explore in the future.
A maximum of 100 places are available for each meet-up, so get your registrations in ASAP.
