CANVA and Library Reports
This meet-up will provide both hands-on examples of using Canva in the library and a history of the product. You will take away ideas for use in the primary and high school library and classrooms. Presenters Bronwyn Dean and Emily Williams share their skills in use of Canva in the school library and will instruct participants on how to create some resources. You will leave this session with a toolbox of how to’s and ideas for the use of Canva for resources and library reports.
About Bronwyn Dean
Bronwyn Deane is a part-time classroom teacher and school librarian at Moss Vale Public School in the beautiful Southern Highlands. With 18 years of experience in education, both in Sydney and London, Bronwyn brings a rich background in teaching, student engagement, and resource creation. A former broadcast journalist, she is also psychology-trained, specialising in developing psychoeducational and student well-being resources for teachers and mental health specialists. As a Canva for Education Creator and Canva Teacher Canvassador, Bronwyn combines her love of storytelling, design, and learning to inspire both students and educators.
About Emily Williams
After studying as a mature aged student, Emily has been employed in the education industry for 20 years. Throughout this time, Emily has worked in a variety of roles, including classroom teacher, special education, RFF, computer coordinator, community liaison officer, attendance officer and finally found her dream role in teacher librarian.
Emily gained her first permanent position with the Department, at Bexley Public School as Teacher Librarian in 2018. She completed her Masters of Education (Teacher Librarianship) in 2020. She now works at Athelstane Public School 3 days a week in a collaborative teaching role.
Throughout Emily’s previous careers, her roles have always incorporated technology with particular attention to marketing through social media and other online programs. Emily has attended a variety of Canva teacher training sessions and has been able to incorporate her learning into lesson plans, activities, and promotion of the school library, to ensure her school’s community has an increased awareness of the importance of the school library.
Emily enjoys contributing to the common goal of collaborative active learning among students and staff. Also, promoting the library as a central hub for connecting teachers, students and the whole school community.

About SLANSW Online Meet-Ups
The one-hour meet-ups take place in SLANSW's Zoom Conference Room and include a presentation from a guest speaker, with facilitated discussion between participants. We aim to include Q&A time as a wrap-up of each online meetup.
A maximum of 100 places are available for each meet-up, so get your registrations in ASAP.
Participation in SLANSW online meet-ups is at no cost to members. Non-members may access the meet-ups for $45 per session.
The one-hour meet-up takes place in SLANSW's Zoom conference room.
