Join us at the upcoming SLANSW Meet Up: Bringing AI to the Library This Tuesday the 24th of March online at 7pm. In this very practical-based meetup our presenters will each share a unique perspective on AI and the school library:

Join us at the work-friendly time of 2pm on March 18th to get some great tips from Jade Arnold the NSW Premier’s Programs Officer, discuss fantastic PRC display ideas and explore the rule changes and resources to make PRC a success at every school. The group will also discuss books to read aloud in secondary and primary schools to jumpstart your students’ PRC challenge!The Mentoring Special Interest group is currently taking expressions of interest for mentors and mentees up until the 18th of March. Mentorship provides a very rewarding way to deepen your professional learning and networks. This group will include inspiring teacher librarians of all experience levels. Empowering Girls in High Schools to Navigate AI with Confidence and Integrity
This session will present practical tools and strategies to help girls become savvy, cautious, and proactive users of AI, preparing them to make informed choices in their personal and academic lives.
Presenter Bio
Jody has 24 years experience as a teacher librarian in the System of Parramatta schools and more recently at St Vincent’s College. She is a Google Certified Teacher and Trainer and is very motivated to curate and deliver micro lessons with the lens of the Information Fluency Framework. Jody is also a keen education technologist supporting teachers and students with online tools for learning.

Natasha Junor – St Phillip's Christian College
Igniting quality teaching through information resources
How Teacher Librarians can create accessible information resources (such as posters) to support quality teaching. This session will cover how to come up with ideas for resources and the design process (using Canva and LMS systems).
Throughout her six years as a high school English Teacher, Natasha developed a passion for school libraries. After studying a Masters of Education in Teacher Librarianship with Charles Sturt University, she moved into her current role as Secondary Teacher Librarian (Research and Curriculum Specialist) at St Philip's Christian College. Her specialities include designing and implementing research-aligned learning resources, with a particular focus on equipping teachers and students with the tools to navigate Artificial Intelligence with critical thinking and digital discernment. Alongside her role in the library, Natasha also teaches Extension English with a special interest in Gothic literature.
